Created by two Canadian dads

SparkBlocks started as a creative escape during the pandemic. We found ourselves asking, why weren’t there more STEM kits that were actually fun to use?  Kits that combined real learning with real play?

So we began prototyping and one block became many. Circuits snapped together. Lights turned on. And most importantly, it clicked -literally- onto the blocks we already loved.

We created a system that helps parents and educators rediscover the joy of invention right alongside the next generation of builders.

What began with LEDs and motors is now growing fast: while launching this, we're already prototyping Bluetooth controls, H-bridges for robotics, programmable microcontrollers, and beyond!

Do SparkBlocks work with LEGO?

Yes. SparkBlocks click directly onto LEGO bricks and all major compatible brick brands. You can integrate our circuit blocks into your existing creations; no adapters or special baseplates required.

Do I need screens, apps, or WiFi?

No. SparkBlocks are 100% screen-free. There's no WiFi, no Bluetooth, and no app required. Everything works right out of the box with a printed Learning Guide.

What age is this for?

SparkBlocks are designed for ages 5-12, with a sweet spot around 8-12 years old. Younger kids (5-7) can build using the picture-only instructions with no reading required. Older kids and even adults enjoy them too.

Why does this cost more than other toys?

SparkBlocks aren't a typical STEM toy you use once and shelve. The Intro Kit includes real electronic components (rechargeable battery, motor, LEDs, speaker, switches) plus building bricks, with a printed Learning Guide, and instructions for 6 themed builds. This packs a lot of valuable education into one complete set.

Also, because every block works with the LEGO-style bricks your family already has, one kit powers unlimited creations. There's no instruction book to "finish" and nothing to throw away. How is this different from Snap Circuits?

Snap Circuits are great for following a set instruction book, but once you finish, there's not much else to build. SparkBlocks work with the LEGO-style bricks your kids already own, so the building never stops. Every block is also labeled with real engineering symbols, teaching actual circuit fundamentals.

Can my child break anything by connecting blocks incorrectly?

No. If blocks are connected the wrong way, the circuit simply won't work. Nothing gets damaged, and there's no safety risk. SparkBlocks are designed for hands-on experimentation.
