Send us the certificate and wait for us to confirm before you place the order. We cannot remove tax from an order that has already gone through, so the sequence matters.
If your institution is exempt from sales tax, send us the certificate before you place the order. Applying an exemption afterwards is slower and messier than applying it up front.
What to send
Email Sales@SparkBlocks.ca with:
- Your exemption certificate as a PDF, signed and in date
- The state or province it applies to
- The exact legal name and address the certificate is issued to, which needs to match the name the order is billed to
- Your PO number or quote number, if you already have one
What happens next
We check the certificate against the billing name on your order, record it, and issue your quote and invoice without sales tax. You only need to send a certificate once, unless it expires or your details change.
If you are ordering through the website checkout
The website checkout charges sales tax normally, and we cannot switch it off there. If you are buying tax-exempt, use the purchase order route instead and we will invoice you without tax. See Purchase orders, quotes and invoicing.
If you have already been charged
Email Sales@SparkBlocks.ca with the order number and the certificate and we will sort it out with you.
