Sizing it for your room
Ten kits, two students per kit, so a class of about 20 is a clean fit. Pairs are how most teachers run it, and it is what the materials are written for.
It also works in rotations. If your class is larger, teams of two working through stations while the rest of the room does something else is the pattern several teachers have used, and the video and logbook structure supports it.
Larger cohorts, camps and co-ops: email info@sparkblocks.ca with your numbers and we will size it with you.
Standards
The units support NGSS engineering practices and core physical science topics: energy, electricity and motion. Grade 4 and Grade 5 units with the specific NGSS codes are on the Learning Hub. See Curriculum, lesson plans and standards.
Two-year parts coverage
Parts that fail in normal classroom use get replaced free for two years, which is double the consumer window. What is in and what is out is set out in A part stopped working: our warranty.
