What you'll build

This 3-in-1 Theme Build provides step-by-step instructions to build a slow-moving windmill, a motorized candy dispenser and a perpetual motion marble lifter. Follow the word-free assembly diagrams to build them one at a time, take them apart and then invent your own variations using the same components.

What's included
  • 330+ assorted building bricks
  • 1× High-torque N20 Motor
  • 2× Wire Blocks (1×2)
  • 1× Crossover Connector
  • Word-free instructions for all three builds

Electronic components come from your Intro to Circuits Kit.

Ages & difficulty

Designed for ages 8 and up. Word-free assembly diagrams keep younger builders independent; older builders can dig into how the circuit works.

LEGO compatibility

Every block uses the standard 8mm stud spacing, so this build clicks onto LEGO, DUPLO (with a base plate), and most major brick brands.

"Screen Free Learning, compact and affordable"

We just got our Spark Blocks kit and just was so worth it. Our almost 7 year old was self motivated to start building the second he opened the box. no bribing required.

"A perfect family activity!"

The kit was easy to use, engaging, and I was floored at the diverse ways you could execute different designs. Even for a toddler, she was highly engaged in the building and circuit activation.

Frequently asked

Do I need the Intro Kit to build this?

Yes. Theme Builds use the electronic components from the Intro to Circuits Kit. If you don't have it yet, add the Intro Kit first. This build then puts those same components into a new shape.

What ages is this for?

Designed for ages 8 and up. Word-free assembly diagrams keep younger builders independent; older builders dig into how the circuit works.

Does it really work with LEGO?

Yes. Every SparkBlock uses the standard 8mm stud spacing and clicks onto LEGO, DUPLO (with a base plate), and most major brick brands.

Do I need an app, computer, or Wi-Fi?

No. SparkBlocks are deliberately screen-free. Everything you need is in the printed assembly guide.

    I Like This

As the title has stated: I like this kit. I think it is well thought of to be able to make 3 builds out of the same pieces, most of them, instead of having single use kits - does anyone really do that with lego type building blocks anyways?

Regardless, we have built the marble lifter, which worked after some minor troubleshooting and works well, ideally, probably needs one or two more 'marbles' to run efficiently, but, its does run.

Secondly, we have also built the candy dispenser and my children found some beads we had to use as the candy and it too, works. Needless to say, while we won't be eating the beads, we will eat other candies while putting the beads through and hopefully won't be getting them mixed up.

As said in another review, we live in our house, it is not show ready and there is music playing. Enjoy!

Thanks again, Phillip! You nailed exactly what we were aiming for with the Mighty Machines kit: reuse the same parts, troubleshoot a bit, and keep iterating. 💪🧠 Love hearing how you adapted the builds at home, that’s real-world engineering at work. ⚡

    Mighty Marbles

I like the Marble track the most, it's so cool.

Blocks fit very good and with a few little modifications the lift does it's job more safely.

I would like an expansion to run a longer and higher marble track 🥳.

Love these spark blocks. It's really fun to bring things to live.

Thanks, Chris! Glad the marble track is the favorite - a longer, higher version is a fun idea and we'll keep it on the list. 🥳 Would love to see how tall you can make it using your own bricks for now! Share in our Facebook community? https://www.facebook.com/groups/sparkblocksvips

    Marble run was great

This was a great addition to the intro kit! The marble run is the one the kids gravitate towards the most, though some parts (the clear bricks to build the tower that the marbles climb up) were a bit tricky even for an adult to get right.

I think the kids would have enjoyed the "candy dispenser" more, but we don't really want to put real candy through it and we had trouble finding beads that fit, so it pretty much went unused. It would have been nice if the candy dispenser worked on the same marble ***** that the marble ball used.

Overall, a great product, and loved the new motors that came with the kit!

Thanks! Good callout on the clear tower bricks being fiddly even for adults, and the candy dispenser needing the same marbles as the track makes a lot of sense - we'll pass that along. Glad the gearbox motors were a hit - they're part of our Expansion Kit.

Fun to build, tweak, and watch

My daughter and I had a blast building this. Initial build wasn't smooth and she has learned to tweak it. So the marbles come out consistently. She learned how gears work. We even connected it to our other Lego pieces to power both a marble slide and a DJ Octopus from another set.

Love hearing that she kept tweaking the build until the marbles ran consistently - we've made some tweaks on ours as well; the trial-and-adjustment process is real engineering (hypothesis > build > test > learn > build a new thing!). Powering a marble slide and a DJ Octopus together is also a pretty great upgrade - would love to see those creations in our community: on Facebook search "SparkBlocks VIPs"
